Clean Industry Certificate (PROFEPA)

The Clean Industry Certificate is an official recognition granted by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) to companies that voluntarily demonstrate a high level of environmental compliance and the implementation of best practices in their production processes.

This certificate is part of the National Environmental Audit Program (PNAA), in place since 1992, and is aimed at companies in the manufacturing, processing, and extractive sectors.

How is it obtained?

1. Application
   The company hires an accredited environmental auditor certified by EMA and approved by PROFEPA.
2. Environmental audit
   Comprehensive evaluation of performance in emissions, waste, water use, energy, noise, and soil.
3. Action plan
   If non-conformities are found, an improvement plan is created with corrective measures and deadlines.
4. Monitoring and verification
   Compliance with the plan and environmental performance improvement is verified.
5. Certification
   PROFEPA issues the certificate, with a validity of 2 years, after validating proper implementation of actions.
