Law 6/2022 on Climate Change and Ecological Transition of the Valencian Community
The Valencian Community regulates the calculation and reporting of emissions through Law 6/2022, aiming to reduce greenhouse gases and accelerate the ecological transition.
Who does this law apply to?
- Industries with consumption > 5,800 MWh/year: CNAE 05-43
- Service companies with consumption > 464 MWh/year: CNAE 45-68
- Municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants
- Transport companies with more than 10 heavy vehicles
- Other companies: those with more than 50 employees may be affected if they meet certain criteria.
Main obligations:
- Calculate the carbon footprint (Scope 1 and 2).
- Develop an emissions reduction plan.
- Register and report the data to the Regional Ministry of Climate Change.
What happens if you don't comply?
- Risk of sanctions.
- Exclusion from public aid and tenders.
- Loss of competitiveness and reputation.
