Science Based Targets (SBTi)

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an organization that mobilizes the private sector to take ambitious climate action. It provides tools, guidance, and scientific criteria to help companies and financial institutions set greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets aligned with climate science.

SBTi focuses on:

• Defining and promoting best practices in climate target setting.
• Providing technical resources and guidance to companies.
• Independently assessing and validating submitted targets to ensure alignment with the Paris Agreement (limiting global warming to 1.5 °C).
