A sustainable future in Logistics and Port Services is possible

Initial problem:

Perez Torres Marítima needed to calculate and manage its carbon footprint to meet environmental standards and pass the EMAS audit. Additionally, they wanted to implement an effective emission reduction plan for their offices in Ferrol and Marín, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability.

Solution implemented and time:

During 2022 and 2023, we carried out the calculation of their carbon footprint for Scopes 1 and 2 at both locations, as well as Scope 3. Based on these results, a reduction plan was implemented that, in less than two years, reduced their Scope 1 and 2 footprint by 15%, and their Scope 3 footprint by a remarkable 49%. Additionally, as part of their commitment, they offset 12 tons of CO2 through local forestry projects in Galicia.

Results and benefits obtained:

Thanks to this approach, Perez Torres Marítima not only managed to significantly reduce their environmental impact, but also used these results to successfully pass the EMAS audit, strengthening their reputation and competitiveness in the sector. The carbon offset through local projects also allowed them to contribute to the regeneration of Galician forests, strengthening their connection with the community and their long-term commitment to sustainability.
